Ok this game is 1998 i think its 6 years old (is it to recent to get onto abandonia or are you guys able to get it ?)

I love the colonization download - another thing you could put up that is available to download off the underdogs.org is alpha centuari alien crossfire expansion download (at 135MB its a bit big) but im sure you would get plenty of users wanting it.

Other suggestions are oceantrader (1995) colonization for windows (1995 i think ?)
and perhaps some stable open source or freesource stuff like simutrans (similar to Transport tycoon but still being upgraded on a regular basis and its free

Great site looking forward to seeing you expand and seeing some more games in the 1995-1997 realise date range.

I would think an Alpha Centauri expansion would still be sold, because the game isn't very old. I know that you can easily find the original game itself for sale.

EDLglide - well dunno if you look at the underdogs.org you will find in their latest update a download link to alpha C alien crossfire - i just downloaded the thing myself in the last few days (doesnt have the movies) but it is fully functioning regardless but comes in at 135MB

Now for the main thrust of my original post was the request for the trading game 1602 AD ?

Is that still being sold or is it abandonware and able to be put onto abandonia for us to download ?

Still a great site this is and keep up the good work.

1602 AD is a trading game mostly i think or a strategy trading game.

This is a touch off topic but how did you get it to work?

I have the original Alpha Centauri yet it doesn't want to work when I extract it!

Anyways, 1602AD is a trading/strategy game. It has 2 types of gameplay if I remember correctly from the demo.

You could play a trading part of the game or a conquest part of the game. I think there may also have been like a mélange of the two at some point.

It's a good game, though.

i had to download WINRAR (trial version) to get it to work properly - if you are on a 4 hour dial up connection its a big 135MB - just click on the download link (you will need getright download manager but youll have to turn off the segmented and accelerated download feature and just go for the basic 1 download at a tiem feature and also at 56k it takes about 12 hours.

Back to 1602 AD i havent been able to find anywhere to buy it seeing as though it was 1998 realise im expecting it has been abandoned by its creators and should be able to be supplied as abandonware if abandonia can offer it as a download it would be a ace game.

Can u provide a link to the demo anywhere on th net until abandonia consider it for download here ?

ANNO 1602 is a good game, a very good game. As such it is still being sold so we will not be putting it online. If you have some money you should all considder buying its sequel ANNO 1501.

i emailed the company actually asking them where i coudl buy it - also asked if they didnt sell it in a availaable form or didnt offer to much support for it anymore would they look at realaising it as abandonware / freeware to the internet at general they have 2 games one a new one they are charging an arm and leg for and the other a war version. Therefore i assume it wouldnt take much to make it publicly available now to sort of lure players into the newer 1503 AD game - it is after all 6-7 since it was realised surley the revenues wouldnt be acceptible - i do note their other game hoilday island was made avaliable as abandonware (1997 i think) therefore it wouldnt take much.

ok post edited where can i buy this game ? can anyone provide a link to an australian based distributor.

I emailed the company direct asking them to provide a distributor that is actively selling the game and or consider realising it as freeware if they choose to no longer sell it as of Jan 05 - awaiting response.

We cannot give out links to warez. Please edit your post and do not ask for warez again. Sorry. Don't mean to sound harsh, but I'm afraid you'll have to buy the game. I have the game and it is worth the money. :ok:

That game doesn't deserve to be called sequel to 1602!
1602 - great!!
1503 - horrible!!
And by the way it most surely isn't abw!

having not tried 1503 AD cant comment but surley if the company is pushing its newer products they did make hoiliday island freeware - ive emailed them asking them to conisder making it available (1602 AD that is ) as a full version download on their own website like their earlier titles. It could be used as a lure to get people to buy their newer games it was realised in 1998 thats 6 years ago surley there is no more money to be made from it, but they could get a larger user base by making it freeware.

Await their response now if i get one at all.

1602 is still sold by EA in their classics line. The sequal to 1503 is in the works at the moment. Let´s hope we can get 1602 as freeware advertising for the product in a year or so when that new games commes out.

well picard nothing yet but im hoping they do respond - l expect the standard response - at this time we still sell 1602 AD on 1 or 2 websites (for $5) mind you so unfortantley youre request to consider to make 1602 AD freewae as not in our company strategy but we wish you all the best in playing this semi great game.

Ive gone and brought a copy off ebay LOL and will use that.
