Since I got the Ultimate DOS Collection from Romano (thanks again), I thought it would be a good idea to post a list of the nearly 3000 games here.

If you see a game you want to review, just state it in this thread so we can check if it is
1. protected in any way
2. an intact archive
3. on Abandonia already
4. playable without knowing any other language than English

This doesn't mean that we don't want to have right-from-the-original-disks (or backup copies of them) versions of these games! :)

So, let's slog through this SLOG! :desmond: :

I'll try to process this into an Excel spreadsheet for easier reference.
I already see a bunch of games that AB already has, and a number of mis-labeled ones too.

Could you even say sometime somewhat good about something?
Yes. Some games are mis-labeled!
But ask Paco, who is now updater, and I am happy because of that, how many mis-labeled games he found at Abandonia last year!? That was in the period when only Sebatianos and me updated Abandonia. More than a half of the year.
You can ask Paco how many statuspoints (PoE) he got for this hard work.
Is it to hard to you to say "Thank you" for a gift I gave to Abandonia?

I think you overreacted a bit, I don't see any provocation into 5th words

Each game will have to be checked to make sure it's what it says on the can. It's as simple as that.
No disrespect was intended.

The list, converted into excel spreadsheet with title, year, publisher and notes in separate columns for ease of sorting.

Great. *goes installing his office programs*

And I'm sure 5th does appreciate your CD donation, Romano. After all, it's the perfect place to look at when someone wants to review a game we don't have (...elsewhere - because perhaps it's on your CDs!). :)

I hope so :)
What we know at the moment is that games archives, screenshots, and extras are in our possession.
Reviews are an legal issue that I can not comment at the moment.
Please give me a few weeks. Not to much time comparing to period of Abandonia stagnation :D

I browsed the list in search for titles that I could review in the future, found about interesting 20 titles but I couldn't find anything about following games on the Net.

Bomb Run (1991)
Digging For Buried Treasure (1994)
Mr Ant (1992)
Neverlock (1996)
Sarge (1988)

:wondering:

-Bomb Run (http://www.freegamearchive.com/game.php?id=5364)

-Digging For Buried Treasure, Marathon Technology 1994

-Neverlock, by Copyware:

NeverLock defeats document checks on a variety of software
products. NeverLock is intended solely for the use of legitimate
owners or licensees of these products.

If you are not a legitimate owner of a particular product that
you wish to unlock, then STOPRIGHTNOW and go out and buy your
OWN copy of the product.

You may only use NeverLock on computer software that you have
purchased. NeverLock is not, repeat NOT, to be used for any
purpose which deprives any software publishers of their rightful
income.

The new files that NeverLock creates may NOT be sold, rented out,
given away, or uploaded to BBS's (bulletin board services).

-Sarge (http://www.hotud.org/Action/Sarge.html)

-Mr. Ant, 1992:

Info Mr. Ant is from the same author as Manhole and, like the previous game, works well on the palmtop. This time, however, the gameplay is faster-paced and, in my opinion, more fun! Gameplay-wise, think of Boulder Dash with ants, and you'll get the general idea. With this game, a slow-down utility will probably be needed to make the game playable.

No, there are 500MB of S archives left, but don't worry, I'll upload them.

Good work! You seem to have a fast connection. *becomes green with envy* ^_^

Good work! You seem to have a fast connection. *becomes green with envy* ^_^

I work in a ISP company, and I have 1Gb fiber connection to my block and about 5 people connected to it :whistling:

Upload to AB FTP was at about 200-300 KB/s, which was quite lame comparing to upload speed to MediaFire (there are games I uploaded for ISO cellar) - 1800-2000 KB/s :smug:

Upload of 'S' in progress :)

Luchsen

:o *stares at his 45KB/s upstream*

So I can cancel my upload of the rest of S?

S is now complete :)

I have this collection myself. I wasn't going to upload anything before checking. Too many archives are not working properly or have no crack for my taste. Also, many are not cleaned and contain useless stuff. I was going to upload archives only once I check them and clean them. Is there any comment on this???

bobson

I checked that list if the archives are ON SITE, nothing more, apart from games in NEEDING ARCHIVES sub-forum.

I got that list somewhere on my HDD.

It's only a resource. There's no use in DVDs just lying around somewhere.
