View Full Version : Chatbox.
We are doing some tests, the Chatbox has been moved to the bottom of the main page and slightly increased the size.
As previously said, this would probably emphasize the forum.
Use our boards. The ChatBox is for small talk.
Feel free to suggest us more colors, we are trying to find the best ones :)

Would it be an idea to add a tab on the top, for a separate chat room or rooms?
I see the use in having a sb for heavy discussions, which allows quicker responses than a forum, and by separating the sb from the forum, then chances are fewer will change between the forums and the sb, clogging the sb with forum material.
Just a thought.

We could also add a little tab for the role-playing nerds (like me :amused:)

you can always select "chatbox full" and open it in new tab=P
or you mean having completely new room?

A separate, new if you will, space. We have separate spaces for games, news, members, forums etc etc. Why not one for chatrooms? Then you can join the one you feel like joining. If you want to discuss a particular matter, then you can open a chatroom for that, if you want to chat for the sake of chatting, there can be a room for that as well.
I see the issue of moderating several chatrooms, but that's why I raise the issue: Will it be practically possible and would it add to more order around here?

Being able to extext the chatbox options to have separate "rooms" would be awesome and could be a great way to work out compromise and help get peace back to that part of the board.

We can't add new rooms in the current Chatbox, far as I can tell.

Ok, so how about one we can add new rooms to?

There are not that many people using the chatbox, so I don't think having more rooms would make sense seeing how they would most probably be empty.

If chatrooms can be opened and closed according to needs, then that will not be an issue. On the other hand, we have seen how the sb has been a hell of a mess with several discussions and chats going on simultaneously. It's for those occations I think this can be a good idea.

The violets are to bright for me. How about #400040/(64, 0, 64)?

It is good for me that Chatbox is at the bottom.
When I scroll down to find it, I have enough time to calm down, too ;)

My experience with chatboxes are bad. I used to moderate a forum and it only attracted spam and completely mindless conversations. It is good, I suppose, for people who don't want to wait for someone to respond in a thread or if they're just interested in small talk.

chatbox is fun  ..... but can get ultra annoying when someone posts an image and it starts jumping :notrust:
