Hiya, i use abandonia quite a lot and wanted to add to the already fine collection of games, so heres the thing.
Ages ago i got a 4 cd collection called "20 Giant Games" which is a wee collection of games from mostly MicroProse and Virgin interactive but most of the games are listed as freeware accordin to the sites oldwarez search
The ones that are definitly abandonware (some didnt appear) and isnt on the site are:
Starlord (1993 microprose, not the other one you have)
You basically start off as a member of a family (you can name it after yourself) in an old style hierarchy/feudal (dukes, kings, emperors etc..) but its in the future and spanning the galaxy, the goal? to make your family survive and become emperor. a nice fusion of gameplay types. you start off with a base star (planet) and a capitol ship and if you are low down you do trading til you can buy a small navy to take on other Earls or people of your rank or even take on your lord to take his rank and place which earns you a vassal and a nice income. basically you jump from system to system gaining allies or forming feuds through diplomacy or combat. combat itself is done on a tactical map so you can send orders to wings until your wing is in battle where you can battle yourself or leave it to the AI. My Fav of the games im offering just now.
Subwar 2050
not too far in the future you are a submarine pilot (because they have small attack subs the equivalent of fighters now) you must accomplish missions and of course, combat. the game has quite a lot of depth (couldnt resist ) and has a stealth element, you can choose to fight or be sneaky by either not using active sonar or hiding behind terrain to block said sonar.
Zone Raiders
Its a dark future where everything is automated by machines, you are a scavanger whose ultimate goal is to reach the freezone, raid zones in a number of different player selectable hover cars and utilise a variety of weapons to achieve your goals.
Machiavelli - the prince
Its NOT in the future for a change :whistling: cant remember the dates asmy history is crap but i think ~1500 or ~1700 but you start at venice with a few units and you explore and trade (think civ but no city building) with 3 competitors (which can also be human players!) and every so often there will be a dodge election which you can take part in if you have senators or even become pope if you have cardinals. Sneaky tactics are a must such as bribing senators or assassinations even the slanderer (which is hilarious) explore the world either real or random generation a sound game and even better with multiplayer (me and a friend were going for the dodge and pope positions, he had the lead for the dodge and was pope so i 'bought' lots of cardinals, assassinated the pope then had a party at my villa, was pope next turn)
They all came off the same cd but are able to run without it so i can provide a download, some screenies and do a proper review!
hope to hear back! (also hope this is in the right place)

Heya just postin wondering how long it usually takes to get games up on the site since most of the updates seem to be boxshots, got another wee handful of games but bit busy nowadays, will i just append them here or would ye find it easier if i made a new topic or topics. Just some insight but no rush :amused:

There is no usually, not since the year dot. It's one game update per week at the moment. I estimate the queue time up to two months. With four games this thread can be handled as a request thread yet. If you append the list, the thread will be moved to Invalid Requests sometime after you finished all your possible engagements.

ok ill add these last requests for now. i can also offer
Conspiracy (aka kgb cd version)
http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/kgb
this should be exactly the same gameplay as the KGB on your site but this one is called Conspiracy and its the cd version so im guessing it adds more music n what not but the main new feature is cutscenes and a very helpful feature in which you think what your dad would do (deceased famous kgb agent played by donald sutherland) its very useful as he tells you if your on the right tracks n some other random information.
Hokum Ka 50 (1994 dev: simis, pub: virgin)
http://www.mobygames.com/game/ka-50-hokum
Take command of a frigate and fly attack helicopters on various missions
Iron Assault
http://www.mobygames.com/game/iron-assault
Fight with mechs in the grim looking future
F 117 A (microprose 1991)
Stealth ground attack aerial simulation game early polygon graphics (tho that might just be me cos the nighthawk aint exactly sleek)
F15 III (microprose 1992)
http://www.mobygames.com/game/f-15-strike-eagle-iii
good graphics and gameplay with lots of features, apparently an accurate map and ive just learned it has multiplayer (gotta confirm mysel)
Dogfight (aka Air Duel: 80 years of dogfighting)
http://www.mobygames.com/game/air-duel-80-years-of-dogfighting
Nice and simple dogfighting sim
Goal! <------ IGNORE, just found its still sold.
http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/goal_
nice and simple football game with the functional basics and a few extra features (weather, pitch direction, team editing)
Ok thatll be my last requests for a while.

KGB | 1992 | Cryo Interactive Entertainment | Virgin Interactive Entertainment
Since it's already on the site, the CD version is fit for the ISO Cellar.
Iron Assault | 1995 | Virgin Interactive Entertainment => SOLD
F-15 Strike Eagle III | 1993 | MicroProse Software, Inc. =>Abandoned, so it's good.
Dogfight: 80 Years of Aerial Warfare | 1993 | MicroProse Software, Inc. = Abandoned, this one is also good.
Goal! | 1993 | Virgin Interactive Entertainment => Abandoned
I couldn't find any info about F-117 and Hokum-Ka 50 on the OW list.

i found out amazon still sells goal! so would that be a no go, yea hokum and f117 are hard to get much on, ill try running f117 at somepoint and see if its known as anything else, i havnt found a place that still sells hokum and it seems to appear on other abandonware sites, apparently there is some confusion over the release date and publisher, the info i have should be right but some sources may cite 1992 and Domark if that helps. Also i was wondering about abandonias position on freeware cos tribes 2 is a good game, thats been freeware for a while, that i keep trying to share to keep alive would it be possible to put it up or is that a no no.

Use Wikipedia, it has info about old games aswell.
As for Amazon, is still considered a good source or no?

ok ill try get them up during the next two weeks (cd drive burned out so i have to copy it on memstick at uni) , how does the iso cellar work? do you put it on the ftp n does it have to be in iso format cos its apart of a collection cd so it would be easier if i just copied the folder over cos some of the games on it arnt abandoned.

1. Not FTP. Filesharing sites (mediafire, rapidshare, etc.)
2. Not ISO format. CD Images in general. So it can be ISO, BIN/CUE, MDF/MDS etc. (preferably not any of the more outlandish proprietary formats, though).
3. Then just copy the folder. We'll figure something out.

Ok its been a loooong time but ive finally got round to uploading some more games tho not F-15 tho as theres mixed responses about that. 5 games and their manuals all tested just run cdgo to run any one and cdinst for settings, i tested em before upload and i can get them to run either through dosbox or just fine on xp, enjoy!
edit: o yea i just copied the conspiracy (KGB cd version) from the disk (the cd had multiple games on it)
You messed quite some Stuff up. First create Folder for the Games you uploaded. If you have take a look into other People Folder, then you should know how you should do.
Next KGB File. I said here:
Conspiracy (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/kgb)
[APPROVED for ISO CELLAR]
Your File is with 205 MB too big for AB so its can be put on AB and NOT ON FTP! Upload your File somewhere and post the Url in ISO CELLAR.
CDAccess dont count anymore.

aye sorry about that i noticed it wasnt in dirs after i uploaded it n i learnt last time i couldnt delete them to fix it. Ah didnt know iso cellar was a seperate entity. Cheers to whoever cleaned it up but im gettin errors when i try to change to the F117 dir. I can reupload them should they need to be.
