Duke Nukem | 1991 | Apogee | [REJECTED: SOLD]
Buy it at 3D Realms (http://www.3drealms.com/duke1/index.html).
But you can review the shareware episode (Episode One - Shrapnel City). How did you get the idea it might be freeware?

Apogee/3D Realms is known for still selling it's old games.

Hi, I was wondering why the old Duke nukem was not on the site? (is it from 1991?) I used to waste a lot of time on that when not engaged in adventure gaming of some kind. :amused: a bit of nice 2d platform gaming can be nice break (especially when you're stuck).
Anyhow, I was surprised not to find it here.

And the shareware episode is not on site because nobody did a review.
You know, many years ago, before I came to this forum, I contacted kosta and asked him if I could review the demo of this game for the site. He denied it at that time.
However, I think the staff needs to discuss about this. There hasnt been shareware's on this site before and there's always a change that the game gets turned into abandonware/freeware (altough changes for this game are pretty slim).

There have been shareware games on this site (http://www.abandonia.com/en/game/all/Shareware) before, and a change into abandonware/freeware wouldn't change the availability of the shareware episode.

so...
does that mean that if one did a review it wouldn't get on the site, because its shareware..?
And now I thought I was gonna be a an alltime famous new old games reviewer.. I'm so disappointed.
I'm serious, at least a little bit serious.. :)
thanks for the welcome by the way. I am very hapy to be here, and very sad that I have wasted so much time, without any knowlegde of this wonderfull site.
-edit: I'm being disappointed a little to early I see, when pressing the link above..

Another thing is, our sister site Abandonia Reloaded is one that promotes freeware games. Perhaps you could go over there and look and ask around? I know they'd be more than happy to have a reviewer on board. Just saying. :)

does that mean that if one did a review it wouldn't get on the site, because its shareware..?
Actually, it would. There are a few precedences for that.
It's not done frequently, but if a game is sufficiently popular - sure!
The amount of requests for Duke Nukem series speaks for itself. :)
