Survival Game Suggestions?

Ok, first of all, when one person thinks 'Survival Game', it seems that it means Horror survival, in which you fend of creatures of the paranormal (zombies) in order to Survive...

...When i think 'Survival Game', I think something like, you just got owned by a storm and are now stranded on an island, and must find food, shelter, etc to keep alive. Google doesn't agree with this and i can't find any 'Survival' games i want to play.

Dont get me wrong, though, i do enjoy a good head-shot zombie game everyonce in a while, thats wh i Play Survival Crisis Z!

But i want a game, where say your plane crashed, and theres 10 ppl with you, and your stuck in the mountains, or a desert, or your in the middle of Alaska or nowhere or an island or something, know any good ones?

Virtual Villagers- Good concept, but im not willing to pay money for it. Maybe if they makes it free....

This is killing me!!!! someone started it with the original survivor game thread and now im lying awake trying to remember a game from probably over 20 years ago.... it was a great survival game, almost text like graphics where u had to find shelter, fish..... and survive!

But for the life of me i cant remember it! plz help... i dont even know if i played it in DOS or if it was on my original Microbee :doh:

Resident Evil would classify as horror, as they are the zombies (Can't wait for RE 5 though :) )

Its based off of a true 1972 plane crash in the mountians near chile, and out of like the 50 ppl on the rugby team (they were going to Uraguay) only 16 of them survived the over 70 days in the mountains...wonder if theres a game like that....

Robinsons Requiem is pretty sweet, atleast, i enjoy it, even though its exptremely hard to even see what im looking at half the time! :p I also like Dues

nah unfortunately thats way more complicated than the simple game im trying to remember.... im picturing the original ultima top down graphics, so its gotta be very early 80's...

if HOTU wasnt messed up id be able to d/l ur suggestion and get a definate but the description doesnt do it for me :max:

YS, just look at the game 'Tales of Middle Earth', on abandonia reloaded, is that the style of graphics you were talking about??

I got a strategy game called "Survival". It's from year 1996
and was developed by C-Design and published by Interactivision.

Survival is a strategy game based about a 125 years after a devastating nuclear
war which destroyed most of the planet. You are in charge of a small group of
survivors that have been living in a bunker all of their lives.

The systems have eventually worn out and failed so when the life sustaining
equipment finally gave up the only option was to go back to the surface.

When you arrived on the surface you discovered that the world had changed
significantly from the one described in the stories, the radiation level was
high but it could be tolerated, there were huge packs of hungry mutants wandering
the landscape, and there was little in the way of resources.

So all that was left to do was to explore the world that you found yourself in,
set up habitations, protect your people from the mutants, and other foes, and
try to build a new civilisation.

To do all this there is one basic task, one that will not be easy, and that task
is to take your people into the world and then to work towards Survival.

To complete Survival you will need to take your people through all of the trials
of life in a dangerous and radioactive environment, exploring everything,
defeating all your foes, and building a new solid civilisation that will face the
future ready for anything.I haven't found very much info around the net.

It definately rings a bell... but im thinkin now it wasnt text based graphics... i remember a rudimentary stick figure and having to walk out on a pier to fish for food...

Which extractor did you use?

You should always explain what happened; e.g. quoting a error message from WinRAR (saying that it is from WinRAR), saying which file you executed, or the like.

Well no what happened was that I downloaded it, then whan i said 'Open' it said File is either corrupted or of an invalid format or whatever, then tried it again and when i was about to click on 'open in a compressed or .zip folder' i decided if it didn't work, I would jsut use my 7-zip, but this time it worked normally :\ amusing game, though i like Wilderness: A survival Adventure more. Right now im just trying to learn all the commands, such as how to filll my canteen with water, and how to enter a natural shelter, and cut down a tree for firewood. I need to get ready for my first night, then in the morning, leave half my gear at the shelter (when i find one) and head back to the pane crash and get my stove and sleeping beg (I accidentally left it there, think it was too heavy) and find a gun (don't know where it is at plane crash) :\

I don't know if it is what your looking for but have tried oregon trail? It's kinda of a survival game. You must take your "family" or "team across the oregon trail all the way to west. In the game you must hunt to get food make decions on what way you want to take. Decide if you need to rest if one of your teammates are sick or left him/her behind. May I suggest "Isle of the Dead", it's a brilliant Point N' Click game from 1993, it is a great Island Survival game, its on the end of the 4th page of Action games on Abandonia. Hope that helped. :thumbs:
