it was like wolfenstein 3d, a lot like it. but you fought aliens instead (or monsters one) i remember this one thing, like there were aliens behind jail cell-like force field bars...and you pushed a button and freed them, so that you could kill them and get ?treasure?...maybe? ...it was a really good game, and the closest game i can think to it would be wolfenstein 3d......wow that was a crappy description...hope someone can help!

Blake Stone (http://www.mobygames.com/game/shots/gameId,786/)? If so, it's still being sold at 3D Realms (http://www.3drealms.com/blake/index.html).

Yeah, pretty sure Blake Stone was the one he's referring to. It wasn't bad, but the second campain in wolf3d was crazy with those mutants. That was hairy for the time... Another goody but oldie was where you were a wizard and you used magic from your hand to kill demons and skeletons that'd come up from the ground. Cant recall the name at the moment... but it was fun.

ah yes thats it. thanx. i have the game i just couldnt think of the name so id know what to look for. in wolf 3d the second campaign...is that in the original game? cuz i had it on an old 133 win 3.0 but after the tenth level when you beat the boss, it mentioned something about continuing...but the game ended, so im sure that i had only a shareware copy...but is it abw now? or was it another game???

It was called Wolfenstein 3D - Spear of Destiny and was a stand-alone expansion to Wolfenstein 3D, a game on it's own, which continued the story. ;)

Nope, both Wolfenstein 3D and Wolfenstein 3D - SoD aren't abandoned by ID Software. And I think there were more then 10 levels in SoD...

If you want to play Blake Stone (http://www.3drealms.com/downloads.html) , the first episode is available as shareware at the 3DRealms/Apogee (http://www.3drealms.com/downloads.html) site.
Oh, it's also available at my site, (see below)

Its an old shooter from Apogee , wich I have bigtime trouble finding , except for the Demo wich is easy to find.
Was a fun shooter , I miss playing it.

It's not abandonware, so it unlikely we'll host it. It wasn't that great, too....you can find much better ones around.

I think BS was great in its own right, far superior to, say, Wolfenstein.
However, as it's been said, Apogee still sells their old games. Wise and thoughtful practice IMO.
Today you have asked for three games, all three of which are protected. And to me it seemed fairly clear that in at least one case you were aware of this fact. Now remember: board rule no.1 is DO NOT ASK FOR WAREZ.

It did have ssome cool features
eg: the scientists that are spys
and very strange aliens...
But I do agree, nothing very special.
