Well, I got DosBox working, thank you to those who helped out (The Picard esp)...but now I must have become game illiterate!

I tried Beneath the Sky and I can't get past the first part, I can't even get him down the stairs without being shot! And Another World seems to be stuck in a loop. As soon as the partical thing blows up and he's swimming in the water, the screen says HIT RETURN TO CONTINUE (and there's a little code at the bottom) so I hit return, and it starts the same scene over and over again, it will not continue.

Am I bad luck?? :(

for Beneath a steel sky
simply go to the left of the screen and pick up the bar '(I don't know what its called... but the cursor will highlight)
pick it up
move to the right of the screen to the door and use the bar (or crowbar) on the door to open it
exit the door.
and after that you'll be able to go down.

Have fun... Beneath a steel Sky is easily the darkest game I've ever seen with such happy colours :)

Beneath a steel sky has that dark "bladerunner" feeling :) and it has some very hard riddles... In most of the places you go you have to discover first what you must do, your goal is almost never obvious. Its a bit harder than most adventures i believe - but it is a excellent adventure

its a pretty strange game really
one moment your robotic friend is making wizecracks about you... and the next moment you open a closet to find a decapitated head.

and then those sequences when you are inside the program... that was odd... and confusing.

but a nice game to play when you are bored :)

there is only one thing I don't really understand about the game: was Reich supposed to be, mostly, a mean character, or mostly a comic character?
because his first appearance is downright hillarious (or annoying) with his "cheap sunglases" and huge smile.

it does indeed have a Blade Runner atmosphere... oh now your eminded me of the game Blade Runner
I think i completed that game only once.

The character of the game is a anti-hero actually i believe... The whole game is a attack on the future mechanized society. Just from the name of the game's character you can understand that... "Reich" in german means "Generation" - "epoch" or something like that ( i don't speak german, but i know that this word has such a meaning ) So he symbolizes a generation who wants to be free from our mechanical society and go back to nature.

The game starts when you teleport into a pool. You have to swim out of the water, or else you drown and game startes again.

well I always supposed it meant empire... but when you said it meant epoch I started doubting because it made sense (The Third Epoch)
but after looking it up in a dictionary and thinking about it
I'm pretty sure it means Empire.
The First Reich was the Holy Roman Empire ruled by Charlemagne
The Second Reich was (I believe) the Hohenzollern empire under the Kaisers (it was also called the Kaiserreich)
and The Third Reich was Nazi Germany under Hitler.

with beneeth a steel sky I have to use code by typing in a address number for busnesses when I am hacking into the prt thingy... its says Its in my manual...but I dont have one and I didnt think you would post a game if u needed a manual...HELP am i stupid or something??

I tried that bit for Another World and sure enough it worked! See?? I told you I was retarded, I didnt realize that the game started right then, I thought it was part of a movie! :P

As for Beneath a Steel Sky, I still can't figure out HOW to pick up the bar, tho i thought of it before I just couldnt get it in my character's hand :(
