I've posted this in the Blood thread but i want a quick answer. Here the prob:
I'm using DOSBox and the program D-Fend to play Blood. But if i try to start the game it loads some engine things and sound and stuff and then it shut down. Oh, and when i launch D-Fend then there is the Message: Failed to create Key \Software\D-Fend
Please, everyone who knows a thing, i need help!

Did you try to play the game without D-FEND? The last version of DOSBox is known to experience some difficulties when used in conjunction with that program.

I don't know how i can start the game without DOSBox, can someone please explain?

Ahem. We are talking about DOSBox here. You are not supposed to actually use a program with DOSBox first of all. It can run anything you want fine by itself.

Sorry, I made a mistake in my last post.
Thank you very much Eagle but the problem is still existing. The game loads some things and then it shuts down, since I start it without D-Fend, DOSBox shows a message after shutting down the game, the message says something about invalid or corrupted sound data. Do you know what i can do against it?

Hmm, damaged archive while downloading? Try to download again. ;)

I have experienced some problems, too. My blood crashed down almost every time I tried to play it!
But my friend didn't have any problems (both games were from here).

Hello all,

I apologise for being a doughnut (a hole where my brain should be), but I have tried opening Blood Net on my computer after downloading it and, even though I have WinZip, I can't seem to get the game running.

Can someone run through it step by step for me, please?

Many thanks.

What's the file extention?

Er, I think it's .zip. Beyond that, I am totally unsure. Sorry.

Alright. So what happen when you try to unarchive it?

Don't think I'm trying to dummy you, but I'm actually trying to understand which point of the process is not working. My first question might seem extremely stupid, but you know we meet a lot of newbies here... :sneaky:

That's fine. As long as you can help, I'm good with it. :)

Truly, though, I understand this must be a process of elimination, especially with me knowing so little about how it all works.

So, to answer your question, nothing happens except what should happen. They become unarchived and all the files are shown. I get PL, CFD, CMI, CMP, EXE, CPF, FNT, etc. files.

Try to run the files with the .exe endings. Also be sure to run them in DosBox, which you can get off this site. It isn't that good idea to play the game under Windows XP, but if you have Windows 95 or 98, it's possible. ;)

:wall:
Thought I could get away with that. Unfortunately, I only have XP, so it'll have to do. I'll try the DL of DosBox now.

Thanks.

Hello Fellas, now I'm a part of this great community! :D And I have a little question, Blood is a little slow on my computer and I would like to know: why?

P.S.: The CPU cycle and Framskip is both very high by me.

You probably don't have a very fast computer then. Blood is a relatively new game and it will require a very powerfull computer to get a decent emulation going.

also for dosbox users, the dos32a to replace dos4gw is worthwhile for the speedup
