KKND: Krush, Kill 'N' Destroy | 1997 | Electronic Arts | [REJECTED: ESA]

Protected till 2013.

Two publishers found: Electronic Art's KKND is protected and a No-Go, while Melbourne House's (now Krome Studios Melbourne)is unknown. Can someone dig up info on Krome Studios Melbourne? They don't seem to be ESA members.

Mighty is right: Link at Mobygames (http://www.mobygames.com/game/kknd-krush-kill-n-destroy).
However there's still a new copy at Amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/KKND-Krush-Kill-N-Destroy/dp/B000EX1P8Y/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1196795277&sr=8-1)
I would say still sold.

They published it together! Do you think they divided the production and sold it separately? And what would be with the rights then? There are no two KKND1s.

Could be a share of market  you know: Hey, you guys take that side of the street, we take this. Doubt if this is true and valid, but can it be that a "version" meant for KSM's part of the world, with KSM's logo would be less protected than EA's "version"? I know I'm out on deep water here, by the way :D Just checking.

This is not the first time that I've found more publishers for a game, I think there are more reason that can explain this:
Case1: one publisher could sell games in Japan and the other one in the USA. (it's an example)
Case2: sometimes happened that there's a re-publishing at lover cost of an old game, if the first publisher is a dead company (or has sold the rights) another one will be the new publisher.

Happened to me with Dungeoun Keeper 1, that game is old but I've found it for about 9€ and the publisher was different. (Tec Toy instead of Electronic arts)

The problem is...who holds the rights now?

shawnsat's request split off to that (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=16244).

Melbourne House was a publisher, and Beam was a developer and it's subsidiary. IIRC Melbourne House wanted a stronger publisher and distributor for KKND, and EA indicated interest - and so it happened that this game has two international publishers. I can't say anything about EA's rights, but Abandonia goes the save way since the ESA incident - if a main publisher is ESA, the ESA rules flash into action.

I dont see EA on MobyGames (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/kknd-krush-kill-n-destroy). Its true for Xtreme (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/kknd-krush-kill-n-destroy-xtreme) Version but not for the DOS-Version...

The first being an ISO of Command and Conquer DOS version. Not just the game files but the actual ISO. Any links? Also another RTS called Krush Kill n Destroy (abbriviated to KKND). Dunno if this one is still abandonware tho.

Does it have to be the Dos version? C&C95 (which works fine on Windows XP) can be found there:
http://www.megagames.com/freeware/command-and-conquer-tiberian-dawn?tab=downloads
(E.A. seems to have removed the download from their official site...)

And there might be some downloads of interest at the bottom of this page:
http://portal.commandandconquer.com/portal/site/tiberium/downloads/

... I found KKND Extreme (according to Wikipedia a polished up version of the original) over at Dos Games Online - the download is only 7.37 mB big however, so I assume this is not really the full game. Nevertheless:
http://www.dosgamesonline.com/index/game/691/KKnD_Extreme.html

addendum:
As Luchsen pointed out just below, it seems to be quite futile to look out for anything better regarding that particular game.

Yes, it has to be the DOS version, see here (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?p=401188#post401188).

KKND - Krush, Kill 'n' Destroy is a 1997 Electronic Arts game, and thus ESA protected till 2013.
