At first the install did not recognize my DVD-ROM as being sufficiently fast (I hate it when games check your hardware. I'll be the judge of that). I have done what the DOSBox site suggests about copying the files to HDD and the game now starts up but it hangs on the splash screen. could it be that I have the made the wrong changes in the .ini?
here is the origional:
; Star Trek: The Next Generation, IBM Version.
Audio=None
Port=0x220
IRQ=0x5
DMA=0x1
Video=HI8
Sound=OFF
Music=OFF
Voices=OFF
Movies=OFF
Advice=0x0
VolMusic=0x7fff
VolSound=0x7fff
Dialogs=ON
Scale=ON
DPixel=OFF
Path=.
CD=.
UniVESA=OFF
and this is what I changed it to:
; Star Trek: The Next Generation, IBM Version.
Audio=SBPRO
Port=220
IRQ=5
DMA=1
Video=HI8
Sound=OFF
Music=OFF
Voices=OFF
Movies=OFF

VolMusic=0x7fff
VolSound=0x7fff
Dialogs=ON
Scale=ON
DPixel=OFF
Path=c:\STAFU.
CD=D:\.
UniVESA=OFF
No idea how to handle this any help welcome.

I ran the setup (rather then install) in DOSBox now and now have made it one step further. The game no longer hangs in the slash screen. Now it crashes directly after it. It says "sosDIGIInitDriver" and goes to DOS prompt. Any ideas?
