This is sort of a mixed thing. For one, I'm not sure if it's abandoned or not, since UD has it as buy. But I'm also sure it is, since they also have the ORIGINAL available for purchase. Anyway, if this game is, in fact, abandoned, why not put it up here? It's an improvement upon the original.

I got master of orion 2 together with a whole bunch of older games way back when i had my first computer... guess it was on the verge of becoming abandonware then.
However I don't think it is legal abandonware yet

Why wouldn't it be?

Microprose is "owned" by Atari now, and they dropped support for all the Microprose games since they didn't have any of the old staff.

I think it was picked up my a company like sold out software. I got it from EA classics myself. I have read on various occasions that it is not abandoneware. HotOD does not have it.

HotUD doesn't have it, but it also has Master of Orion listed as BUY.

Yeah, true enough. I disagreed with their assesment of that game. MoO2 is not abandoneware for me though. It's not that old and even though I have not seen it for sale in a shop for quite some time there are still plenty of outlets on the internet that sell it.

I'm convinced MoO2 is abandonware..

Type in www.microprose.com in your browser and hit enter. It takes you to the Atari website.... more "proof" it's abandonware. I also haven't seen it for legitamite purchase ANYWHERE, except for sites on the internet. I highly doubt that, if you order it from them, it'd come. This is coming from someone who ordered the Fallout Dual Jewel from the main site.. It still hasn't come. I ordered it about a month ago.

I'll have a talk with Kosta about it once I have the time.

MOO2 i also downloaded long time ago but looks like every game MOO2 is buged ....game frezzze at some time at same time and u cant play trugh that so if anyone find unbuged game plz tell me.
Anyways im playing MOO3 i was thinking if MOO2 was awsome then MOO3 will rox ,but i was wrong all better MOO3 is graphic and all other is on MOO2 side :)

Yep, MoO3 was a very bad game by any standard. MoO was the best in my opinion save for multiplay. MoO2 would still live on in multiplay if there was some way of playing it without having to pay for it or having to set up a second and third computer for the other players.

I have played MoO 2 (I believe I already said I owned it)
MoO 3, which I borrowed from a friend, was an awefull game, IMO.

A good game that is like Master of orion would be Galactic Civilizations by Stardock... I'm hooked to that game!

It is not available in shops here but I have heard more then one person remark that it very good.

Yes... I kinda just bumped into it while browsing the racks of games in my local videogame shop (which always has an assortment of old games around)
I have no idea why I bought it since it really isn't my kind of game, but somehow i got hooked to it

Is it possible that we'll see it in VIP section or normally on this site?

The Niles

Master of Orion 2? Doubtfull. As for Galactic Emprires absolutely not.

Galactic Empires is perhaps a bit obscure, but certainly not abandonware... an expansion pack for it was released but a few weeks or so ago.

What about Imperium Galactica? Great space-strategy.
I'm refering to the second part of the game... never played the first one..
I am sure that IG 2 is not abandonware, and anyway it's archive is about 150 MB... but i'm not sure about IG 1.Maybe that could fit on this site.

I remember both IG's, pretty good. Some twitchy stuff, but great fun. I'd recommend them if they are abandonware and would fit. Heck, I have the CD's around here, hopefully not scratched up too badly...

Hello:
Can I suggest Master of Orion 2 to be uploaded here on Abandonia? It'd be great. This is the game that I miss the most when I enter to abandonia, strategy section. Its name doesn't appear in the list of the pinned topic about games that ain't abandonware, but I don't know if it's abandoned. Ok, here I leave my suggestion, more than a request.
Bye

I would love it too, but if I am not mistaken it something like 2 CD's ... unless of course they decide to rip parts from it.

Cost. Propably why no bigger downloads.
Just be glad that we get this great help and service for free from their own time.
Of course if you can afford it you can contribute to the site. (wish I could).
For bigger ones you can always try other sites.

My friend requested a few games, though I do not know if some would be possible or not considering I haven't played them before. Here are the following:

- Realms of the Haunting

- Master of Orion II - Battle at Antare

- Bioforge

Thank you for doing a great job with the site, saving the quality games that we all know and love. :D

Bioforge for one has already been requested and isn't ABW - not sure about the first one but I doubt MoO2 is abandoned, and would probably be a bit big anyway.

ESA protected and/or sold. This means, among other things, that you can't be directed to any downloads, not here at Abandonia anyway.
