Ok, I have downloaded DOSBox, mounted dosprog.. But how do I start actually playing the games? I have downloaded them from this site, and I am very confused as to how to play them.

First the games you downloaded are in .zip format. You need to unzip them using your favorite unarchiver program (most everyone here use Winrar). Then you must mount the game in DOSBox.

When this is done you must search for .exe, .com or .bat files to start the game. The rest is pretty straightforward.

I followed the directions for mounting C drive by typing: "mount c c:\dosprog" but nothing happens. The game I was trying to install is Street Fighter 2. Also is there a separate bootdisk required for NTFS partitions?, I noticed that the bootdisk doesn't work on NTFS, only on FAT32 I guess. Both partitions I have are NTFS.

try / instead of \.

It depends whether you have a UK or US Keyboard layout!

Thanks for the help. I thought extracting them would work, but I guess it did not. Hehe. I will try that now.

Ok, game mounted... How do I start the game now? I have tried opening the .exe file, but I cannot figure out which one it is. The game I am trying to use is Eye of the Beholder 1, by the way.

I recommend a frontend for DOSBox called DFend. It makes adding, configuring and launching games a lot easier. :)

I don't know why those people MUST explain this to you in most difficult way!

My advice is just to drag&drop game's .exe file over dosbox's .exe file (or dosbox shortcut) and the game will run! Then press alt+enter and the game will run in full screen! :ok:

BTW .exe file is one with "windows" icon. if you didn't understand this, try openning any files with different icon than other! :bleh:

Put a shortcut on your desktop :D

Then you can drag a file over it and when the shortcut is highlighted let go and it should work. :D :D

You can't take screens if you do it that way.

I can. I've always dragged and dropped in DosBox and I've never had any problems with screenshots.

Can't see why it wouldn't work for you. Just press F5 and it should save a screenshot in your DosBox directory.
