I have installed Laura Bow 2, the Dagger of Amon Ra in DosBox and I am able to play the game. The music works fine, but I am having trouble getting the speech to work. I have tried every compatible sound option in the configuration to no avail. The captions show up in the game, but you can't hear the characters speak. I remember that function clearly from when I originally played the game many years ago. Please help!

I'm eternally grateful! :kosta:

If you are talking of the version downloadable from Abandonia, i fear that the voices are not included in this version. Take a look here (http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=771&st=0), just in case i have miss something

Incappucciato d'Oombra is right, there is no audio speech available.

Maybe your memory is playing tricks? I played this game when it was released and there was no speech. Maybe you played a later release or something :)

Oh how I wish my father never traded LBII for some silly Star Trek PC RPG 10 year ago!

DANG! Copies of the CD version are going for $20 and up on eBay. I guess I'll have to settle for the captions *sigh* :hairpull:

Merged your double post - there is an edit button. And your quoting was horrible. ~Luchsen

I'll check my version and possibly upload if it's full CD.

When was this game released with speech?

In The Dagger of Amon Ra, Laura Bow was voiced by Leslie Balfour, who also voiced Yvette Delacroix and the narrator.

Just some random useless information. But has Leslie Wilson married Bruce Balfour?

Excuse me Luchsen, I'm sorry for offending your eyes with my poor posting skills. I don't do this very often. I didn't realized we would be graded.

When quoting someone and his quoting of you, and then quoting yourself (and your quoting of someone and his quoting of you), producing a double post with the other quoting complex of yours, yes. ^_^

Heh, I always thought Balfour was a man. I'm going to have to download this to hear the feminine proof :)

I love this game, so to find there is a speech version is glorious!

EDIT: Um, where exactly is it? It's not under "L."

Hi "krypticn", 20 posts aren't so much and the forum is big and full of kind people...try to talk about games, to request an old one, to talk about you, to be helpful....is easy, trust me ;)
Answer me and only 15 posts left :whistling:
