Very Odd Gabriel Knight Question

OK- I have two versions of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. The original, non-talkie version in English, and a Talkie version with English speech and French text.

Is there any way I can swap/overwrite the files around to replace french text in the talkie version with the english text from the silent version to get a full-english copy?

Are the speech files called the same in both version? If so, then it should be simple to switch them round, if not, then you will need to rename the English files to their French version (it will most probably be easier to bring the English speech into the English text version than the English text into the English speech version, if you see what I mean).
