So, I've been playing a little game called La-Mulana lately, and it's turned out to be one of the best homebrew games I've played since Cave Story.

It's a great platformer with a very old school feel. Absolutely unforgiving to mistakes, yet amazing feelings of accomplishment come from figuring out a puzzle of applying a new item or tool. Sort of Metroid, sort of Castlevania.
Give it a shot, it's really quite good.
