Tonight, there burst out a fire close to my house. A tire-junkyard, about 5 minutes walk from my house, caught fire. There are black clouds over the city, and poision fumes. The police is driving around my neighbourhood, telling people in speakers to close windows and telling us to get ready to evict. I see that people in nearby houses are leaving, and my family might go to my grandmother, for some time. We don't know for how long. This is really scary.
When I got home from work, I went off the car and ran into the house. I had a scarf over my nouse and mouth, and it was disgusting. The smell of burning rubber and petrol isn't nice

On this page HERE (http://www.visir.is/?PageID=38&NewsID=21668) are pictures of the fire. Under the picture is a link, it says "N?sta", there you can see more pics.

We leave our house if the wind changes directions.

Sounds bad. Hope everything is cleaned by the holidays day for you. Stay safe and eeww keep that scarf handy...

Yeah, I feel sorry for you. That's one of the worst thing which could have happened around your house. I hope that the pile of tires is not too big.

It will probably leave a whole mess... Cleaning everything afterward is not pleasant at all... But as long as you don't get intoxicated you should be fine. If I were you I would go somewhere else ASAP until it end.

Piles of tires take ages to burn, there's a really big one in Ireland and it's been smouldering for 20 years and they can't put it out.

Our house is save for now, I've been told, but if the wind changes the slightly I move to my grandmom. We're closing all windows and taping then down....

Oh, I can't wait for tomorrow, having to take the bus to school!

Maybe now you'll learn not to play with matches...

Nah, we'll miss you if you have to evacuate, but your health comes first.
And NO-ONE can make a Christmas dinner like good old grandma! :w00t:

Well, we probably won't have to go.
Although they evacuated over 600 people from the houses around me tonight! But my house is in a good place when it comes to the wind right now.

This morning, the air outside was still disgusting, but without a doubt better than last night.

Now Auja is rushing me to finish this so she can use the computer. :ranting:

Cya!

Fire is always a terrifying thing to see (and amazing too, to be honest... :tomato:). I hope the fire will be over soon, I can imagine how the air smells there...
Should you still need to go, I hope you'll back soon. ;)
We had some weeks ago a really great fire in a nearby city, Gelsenkirchen. No trains could move to or from there because of that for 2 days. No idea though what happened there, it hasn't been showed on the news... It just was told that it was really large area-fire there...

I was in the house that was set to the fire, but I could not go out, as they would kill me if they knew I was in there. (That’s the reason they started fire and they throw couple of bombs in the house.

Well we where in some kind of half basement for another 24 hours without any water to drink and very little of or air to breath.

Sometimes man can do something that you hardly can believe it’s possible.

But still think it should be good idea for your family to move, Puff, as nothing compare to live of the loved ones. Better to be on the safe side…

Seems like you've lived an interesting life Anubis. Hopefully your child will not meet such circumstances.

I'll try to prevent that. :ok:

Nothing scarier then somebody pointing a gun at your head, and you can see his finger shaking a bit....

Exactly for that reason.

All admins hate spam. It was just a question of time before someone would snap.
And please.... this is off topic. Do not start a spam spree in this topic.

No that was when their footballteam lost

It was during the entire Milosevic crisis

Rogue

Strrogy,
It was no Milosevic crisis. It was aggression of Serbia on neighborhood countries, where they tried to control as much as they can of our land. So it was war, not some sort of interstate crisis.

They did what’s so called ‘ethnics cleansing’, which include killing/migrating people while they were destroying all evidence that we ever existed there…. (sound familiar?)

This is a bit :ot:

Sorry

YAY! They put down the fire, and most of the smoke is gone. But now that aweful smell remains :eeeeeh:

Which is worse, the fire or grannie... Humm... not sure.. ;)
Nah, my grannie is the coolest! Both of them, actually!

No he doesn't. No I don't. :bleh:
In my town, there was a fire. The two kids managed to make it out the bedroom window on the roof, but the mother was caught in the flames right as she was going out the window. Like something out of Ladder 49.
