I've found an online NES emulator with about 575 games on it! It's made with Java, so it can be run from your browser :) Off course NES emulators exist for playing this stuff offline, but I though this new version has its charm!

Isn't NES/SNES emulation very illegal?

No, writing emulators is not illegal, afaik. The emulation is not. Distributing ROMs you don't own the copyright of IS illegal.

This is a really great idea to deal with current laws...
I already feel the good old times coming up :brain:

Because it was apparently massively illegal. And someone thought it was okay to post it here in the first place.
Looking at you Gufu :w00t:

I think they actually allowed to do this:
1)They don't save information of your computer
2)it's free
3)why exactly you think it's illegal?

These sorts of sites reside on the same shakey legal ground as stuff like Allsp and that. Don't be surprised when they are deemed illegal and pulled, because, well, they may not save the actual roms to your computer, but the guy hosting the stuff could get in muck, y'know.

I do have a question. There is a site that I know of, which I have seen, but of course, never actually downloaded any ROMs from, no of course not. I hope that sounds sincere and not sarcastic, because it isn't. Getting to the point: Why then do these sites exist if they are not legal? Are there countries that are outside of the law, or at least enforcement? How do they shut these sites down? Hire hackers to destroy it? I really don't know how all that works, so please let me know. THe site I know of has been around a while, and I hope it continues to thrive, because there are other people I know of who wouldn't have access to certain old games without it, not me of course.

I look at it this way; there is a such a strong community behind these sorts of things that even if it were shut down, there will always be another jumping in to take its place.

Those are online...
I don't see problem going there?
Yes, they did had problems at first - they solved it.
The virtual NES is legal program...

The virtual NES is legal, the games offered for playing there are not. The license for the games is still owned by Nintendo, and it's quite obviously still active.

Oh well... but most of those games are over 10 years old and abandonwere... though not all...

Console games do not apply to the same standards as PC games when it comes to their age and availability.

Ok... abandonia was a warez site itself before...
