After downloading parts 1 and 2, I found that once downloaded and extracted, they are identical ISOs.

No, they are not.
Evo-i.part1.exe -> 244 MB
Evo-i.part2.rar -> 207 MB

Are both part of a SPLITTED WinRAR SFX, hitting Evo-i.part1.exe starts the unpacking, both are put back together and give Evolution.iso -> 632 MB.

As WinRAR is smart enough to look for Evo-i.part1.exe when you click on Evo-i.part2.rar it will correct your mistake and still will unarchive both, that's why you get the wrong idea that they are the same.
