This game came out in 1995, I don't know if is ABW and I'm sure it's probably large.

I would like to know if anybody played this game.

You mean this (http://www.mobygames.com/game/sheet/p,2/gameId,376/)

Haven´t played,
but it should be abandonware...

Rogue

Yes, that's the game. Thanks!

Nice screen shots (http://www.mobygames.com/game/shots/p,2/gameId,376/).

Got it, but haven't tried it yet. It's abandonware and 74Mb big, zipped.

I've got it, full CD rip with speech (though the speech gets totally mangled in XP/DOSbox. Need to mess around with the setting some more).

Haven't played very far, but the graphics are nice and the setting has promise.

Thanks all!

Let me know if the game is worth playing.

Origionally a French title. Nice game but I could only get a Dutch (flemish) version of it in Dutch shops. I hate the language conversion. I would even rather have a French version with subtitles. Too big to upload unfortunatly.

callahans saloon is 74 MB's.
And this sequel to Shadow of the Comet is way better than that.
I think it would be worth the upload. But thats up to the admins.

Maerlyn

I had the demo of that once, very cool.

Fawfulhasfury

If you like Prisoners, then check this game out Arcane-Online Mystery Serial based on the Cthulus Mythos by H.P. Lovecraft (http://www.arcanegame.com)
It's an online game, not download though.

I have this on CD. But I can't do anything I got stuck, but it looks nice.

It's been a while but is there some kind of octopus creature in the submarine where you start, and if I'm right what do you do to it?

There is couple of walkthrough (http://www.balmoralsoftware.com/prisoner/prisoner.htm) for this game that you can find online, but I don’t recommend using them, as they’ll spoil the fun.

There was also the old Hound of the Shadow, and Daughter of the Serpent. HoS was supposedly based on Cthulhu Mythos world. Played it a bit, got scared off as it's a text-based game.

I downloaded Prisoner of ICe from Underdogs but I was unable to make it run. Actually I had problems with saving position. Well, I wanted to write a rewiew and to upload it, so someone could send it to me. But first I need confirmation since it is big. One Admin sad that this can't be done. If not sure, check with Kosta again. Hey, Kosta, come in please!

Tom Henrik

What is the size?

Fawfulhasfury
19-11-2004, 02:26 AM
It's 74 MB just like Callahan's Saloon, but much better.
I would say it's worth it. :D

Rogue

I that only zip or ISO of the CD. I wonder if somebody can get us an ISO of that game.

Maybe later...

Right now we have some money issues. And we are also looking for a new home for Abandonia. We need a better Bandwith deal.

Fawfulhasfury

could someone upload it to the server so someone could download and distribute it if anyone wanted it until it could be put on Abandonia?

i'd like to request an adventure game called "prisoners of ice".
it was made by infogrames in 1995 and it's abandonware as far as i know.
is there any chance of getting it for abandonia?

Wael

Abandonware
Found in HotU (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?name=Prisoner+of+Ice)
Best chance of getting it to the site,
would be asking for a permission to review it from the admins yourself /-

Excellent game one of my favourites of all time. Its also loosely based on H. P. Lovecraft short stiories aswell which I love

Fawfulhasfury
14-01-2005, 01:00 AM
Right. In the books, the prisoner is called a shoggoth.

The Fifth Horseman
14-01-2005, 07:32 AM
I think you are wrong. Shoggots were described as amorphous blobs, much like giant amoebas.

And I have the Windows version of POI... cannot run it at all...

Barrett

I aint sure Just read the Call of Cthulhu collection of short stories and it mentions The Great Old Ones and alot of other things in the game, like n'yerlo thep ( I know thats not the right spelling )

Strobe
14-01-2005, 11:59 AM
i got POI from the underdogs and unfortunately, there's no sound :(

The Fifth Horseman

Barrett, I have got URL to a complete collection of Lovecraft's stories, if you are interested.

Lovecraft's stuff is superb, maybe except "the hound", and I can tell that August Derleth's attempts at adding to the Cthulhu universe went perfect too.

Oh, and correct spelling is (shudders) Nyarlathotep. Just don't read it aloud - for your own good...

Barrett
14-01-2005, 12:04 PM
Nice one mate, yeah Im very interested, and 10 out of 10 on the spelling. Have u ever seen that film "Necrinomicon" its based loosely on three of Lovecrafts stories, but I aint seen it for years so i cant remember if its good or not.

Fawfulhasfury
14-01-2005, 02:24 PM
Actually, so are the Prisoner's. They are both protoplasmic monsters, so.

Barrett
14-01-2005, 02:52 PM
did anyone know that alone in the dark was based on Lovecraft aswell ? well now u do. No Idea which book or story right enough i just know its based on Lovecraft

HPL is dead for, like 80 years. His work became free domain because of that.

I think it was the second from the top link. Others are also worth checking.

Is it still up to date that this game will come up to abandonia? I really would appreciate it... HOTU´s version doesn´t work properly on my system. Or better: the files - compared to anubis´ version - don´t seem to be complete...
