Ok then! Glad to see some good old-fashioned gamers. :ok:

Flashback and Prince of Persia 1 and 2 are indeed supreme titles. I would call them: Fundamental, for anyone who conciders him/herself a gamer today!
It took a lot of ballz to make such indelible games back then. Nowadays, there is too much hi tech designing going on hense the f...ing system requirements! :rifle:

that's the reason i got here!!
I remember that the game, heck my whole computer (amiga600) used to get locked in this level where you could use a portable teleporter.
I never was able to play that game again, until now, although it seems,
I just don't know how to get started,
I just started a topic on that in the troubleshooting, anyone?

i grew up on old consoles/computers and i'd have to split best platformer between sonic 1 on master system (that was built into the second master system console i had :D) and super mario bros. 3 on nes (i still have 2/3 of those carts with my nes consoles :P)

Okay, I'm still not clear on what you mean by platform. Oh well.

For oldschool sidescrollers, I would have to say Apogee's games (such as Commander Keen) were the best.

Best game platform is PC, as it can run any other platform
(maybe newest such as PS2 excepted, but not for long, or not if you have proper hardware)

Best single platformer? That's a tough one. How about Mario Bros. 3?

Iron_Scarecrow
11-01-2005, 01:35 AM
By platform they meant platform games. Such as Mario Brothers and Sonic.

Scarface
11-01-2005, 02:17 AM
Super Mario series
Mega Man series
and Donkey Kong Country (the first one for SNES is my favorite)

as for PC I'd say Commander Keen but I also remember a game I used to play a lot called Xargon
