What Kinds Of Connection?

Just a small question: what's the difference between T3, T1, cable and DSL connection? I saw that designation T1 or T3 often and also noticed it's faster than DSL, so someone of you can perhaps explain me something about them? :)

Got a few friends who have a 100 Mbit connection via a TP-socket in the wall.. is that a... what?
