Well on the email you sent me. It says it will expire in three weeks.

Tomi Vaden has invited you to open a free Gmail account. The invitation
will expire in three weeks and can only be used to set up one account.

The INVITATION,
will expire in three weeks;

Meaning,
that the account has to be created within three weeks,
or the invitation will become vain.

I remember the joke when gmail first came out:

"Wow, I'd hate to have people reading my e-mail."

"Why? There's never anything interesting in them."

It's not that Google personell are reading all your mails , why should they? They just let there little probe engine scan your mails for keywords so they can adjust their advertisings according to your email topics.

So when you are talking about cheap vacations to France, google searches it up and gives you ads according to it. Pretty nifty.
