OK, I just can't make heads or tales of these FTP programs. I tried 3 verions of CuteFTP and SmartFTP, but I just can't get the games to you!
I have a few reviewed games with added manuals ready, yet I can't upload.
I get messages like:
Socket error = # 10053 (my help section doesn't even have that number),
or
Failure to write on local file
or
Child transfere failed

What to do?!?!
Is there something wrong at my end?
'Cos I'm telling you, you're missing out on some great abandoned games!!!

Do you have an account on FTP at all already? If you have, you can upload games to it just via Internet Explorer... ;)

Kosta gave me a username and a pass if that's what you mean. 3 games are waiting in my folder right now, but I have more to come.
How can I do that with the IE?

well, using internet explorer,
You can use ftp folders just like regular folders.
You just click and drag files into it.

Simple as that.
Maybe I'll write a tutorial with pictures on how to upload using CuteFTP.

IE is screwed up on my computer so I can't use it anymore

I know how to use the clik and drag (duh), but the transfer won't complete! It runs up to anything between 17% to 89% and then... AN ERROR MESSAGE!!!

Had this problems with one of the games, that are up there (but latter on, It uploaded without problems - after three days of trying)!

Are you on dial up?

Damn, I knew I had to buy a first class quality chain. She's loose again!
Nope, that's not it... Nice try though!

Now, I'll hide before she reads this

Consider yourself lucky. She's in Germany now.

Meaning you can upload all you want to, without worries :max:

Trying to, doesn't work!

I have a problem with FTP transfers too. Whenever I tried to upload a game, the file woul corrupt. My solution was to post the file on webs[pace using a webbased upload (angelfire\geocities) and send a dl link to Kosta/Tom/and on else who can upload\post

Try and use Internet Explorer without any programs at all. That works best for me.

Sebatianos
06-11-2004, 09:11 PM
Never dune that, just what do I need to do? (export?)

FreeFreddy
06-11-2004, 09:26 PM
Btw., could be that I know what the problem is. It's possible that you simply don't have enough space available for upload on your account. If Kosta sent you a PM, he should have mentioned how much space you have available, I guess?

Sebatianos
06-11-2004, 09:29 PM
No one told me, how much space I have, although I was asking frequently!
Could be!
If that's the case, you'll all have to wait for further uploads from me.
Got a few things ready, but they'll just have to wait here, alone...

FreeFreddy
06-11-2004, 09:34 PM
Well, it seems you'll have to wait quite some time, until Kosta willl be able to answer it to you. From what I heard, he has a girlfriend now. :D

Sebatianos
06-11-2004, 09:41 PM
That's a good reason!

O.K.
Found out all I wanted to know, I guess Kosta'll have to give me more space, or I'll have to stop downloading. Really haven't much choice!

THIS TOPIC IS READY TO CLOSE!

Man, people from this forum are so funny... Close a topic? One of the stupidiest thing I ever heard. Strange thing that I only heard it from here too.

Don't close topic. :)

I got same problem. Upload works up to 50-80% and then error. Server does not support 'resume' of uploads.

I'll try IE, but I doubt it will work.

Sebatianos

Lucky you, for now. I had no problems when I started uploading either!

I even run around deleting topics. :sneaky:

And it's a good thing to, because topics like this are posted, so you'd get an answer for a specific question. I got my answers, so no need for this topic to stay and use up space!

Still one question to solve.

Same thing happened when I try uploading trough IE.

There is 3Mb file limit for me, and I was able to upload smaller file, but as soon as I approach 3Mb, I got an error.

I'll send PM to costa with question.

Yamcha
07-11-2004, 03:13 PM
I think i got 25MB limit

Rogue
08-11-2004, 05:20 PM
It was upload quote, which is fixed now. (thanks kosta :ok: )

Not to be too proud, my first HD was enormously 20MB size!!! How big was that at the time?!

Sebatianos
08-11-2004, 05:25 PM
Depends when, but I remember thinking 20M, what would I do with the space? I was used to a 4M - PC-XT with MS-DOS 2.1
Ah, the nostalgia!

Eagle of Fire
08-11-2004, 05:26 PM
That's 0.02 gig. ;)
