View Full Version : Drawing Competitions...
Hey,
Who thinks we should start monthly/weekly/daily drawing competition?
I have no chance of winning  but i would like to work on a set description of something and then compare my finished drawing to somebody elses interpretation.
If you want a competion to be started say so if enough are intrested we could start a proper thread.
As for prizes ill speak to Kosta about possible VIPship for the winner!
Cya Magic!

Why giving a VIP pass for someone who got talent to draw??
Well if you wish you can give them money?
I couldn't think of any other prize, other prize suggestions welcome.

VIP is out of the question. Good idea, but unfortunately not possible.

Don't expect me to enter. But I think it a little pointless, we all know Void is the best drawer.

Did you just say TheVoid is the best boxlike compartment in furniture that can be pulled out and pushed in?

Being a VIP is like being a member of the Freemasons.
Once you're it, all the magic and mystery is gone.

Don't worry Strog.
I can revoke your VIP status if you want. The mystery would creep up on you once more :sneaky:

I don't why you would want to be a VIP. I'm happy without it. And from what I hear they can't do anything special.

VIP has some neat functions and benefits. It's a reward for people who don't just grab all the free games and leave, but for those who actualy contribute to the community.
Being able to draw is nice...but won't help the community much ;)

I tried contributing, I wrote a review. Don't know what happened to it. But I really hate english and writing reviews is stuff we do in english, so writing review ain't the thing for me. But If I were to write reviews I'd be happy to do it without gaining VIPship.
:ot:
As for the whole prize thing maybe we don't have prizes...

Then what's the point if there's no prize. Maybe the winner can change their rank, I'd like to change mine from Game Wizzard, or is this option only for VIP's?

VIPs and mods can't change ranks, only admins, VIPs have no powers other than being able to access the VIP lougue and forum. (not that I'd be an authority on this any more)

Well perhaps we could have an award system, like some sites have.
it basically just gives the winner some sort of medal.
This medal is displayed on the Members main page (along with info and such)
The award-images need to be made by someone... so the first competition could be about that.
Design the best award.
an example, on another forum I won the Riddle Award.
So now on my member page under 'Posting Details' I've got this image:

I think stroggy has a good idea.
Although it doesnt look like anybody is intrested in the drawing competition idea.

No one's started a competition, if someone did then I would enter.

I like the idea of the drawing competition, would bring a lot of new stuff in the galleries. The award system is also nice.

Well first the award system has to be enabled.
Secondly I already suggested the theme of the first competition: Draw the prettiest award.
All mediums are allowed as long as the image is usable online (so not a drawing in a notebook)

What is the award for? (best riddler, best drawer, etc.)
Stroggy

The best drawing made.
I presume the competition will be monthly, each month a new theme.
Its done on quite a few sites, there is the "january challange" and so on.
On Abandonia it would be abandonware themed.
Like creating a X-com themed image.
Or boxart.
Hmmm...
The award above was made on computer can we do that aswell?
if so are there any size specifications prefrably in pixels?

Here's my entry (I have it in better quality but it's too big to attach, If I win I'll find some way of getting the good version online):

Any mediums are allowed.
But size should be determined by an administrator (Kosta presumably)
The one I've got is 120*120 PX

Ok, if you guys want, I can start a competition. The contest will be abandonware themed. And the best contestants will be added in the fan art section. how about that?

Well...you get a reward this time instead of an award. Win three times in a row and you get an award ;)

Can Admins change the rank of those who aren't an Admin, or just themselves?

LOL Well, if an admin can't change titles, then who can?
Remember that admins can do EVERYTHING

I'd say it stand to reason the award-designing will be the first competition
