I've downloaded Alien Incident and am running it through DosBox 0.65

The game runs quite happily right through to were I rescue the uncle and grandad from the Alien spaceship and try to board the Boss's escape pod. Just after that it comes up with the following message.

Please Insert Alien Incident CD back to drive and press enter.

I have configured dosbox.conf with the following command to give me a D: drive pointing to the CD-Rom on my Windows XP Pro computer.

mount d f:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl

Any help would be appreciated as it is extremely frustrating to get that far and not be able to complete it, as easy as it was.

did you start the game using AI ?

Did you try DOSBox 0.63 as well ? As the review is probably dated around that time.

Yes I did start it with AI and no I haven't tried 0.63. Is there a significant difference ?

Well DOSBox has changed a lot.
Maybe the changed something that made the game incompatible.

In the review I don't see any mention that you have to mount the cdrom though.

Well as I originally said it runs quite fine until well into the game then it oddly asks for the disk. Can't believe there was ever more than 1 CD for this game.

Also if I don't mount the CD Drive the game refuses to start altogether.

If the game ask you for a disk then it is way more likely the game is refering to a floppy, not a CD. ;)

could you create and upload a savegame of this problem ?
It would help us take a look wiithout playing to the same location as you did.

btw did you try the following:

try mounting the game directory as d: -t cdrom
(while mounting your regular c drive). This way the game willl find the game files on D:\

Any way to run this game with the current dosbox?

I run the Setuip, then the AI.exe, but the game doesn't even start.

You have to mount a CD-drive (i.e. enable MSCDEX).
