Diablo 1?

O.K. With the sudden increase in my gaming hours by this week, I accomplished a nice goal. From level 1 to level 16. Now that I have "overburdened" my character, I wanna get rid of a few items out of my inventory.
I'm talkin' bout:

Swords,
Clubs,
Rings,
Amulets,
Bows...
Either magical or unique.

What I want in return? Gold or smth in return by other items.
So, if anyone still has this on PC and wants to trade a few things, I'd be happy to play a few games.

I have a ring which makes me constantly lose hit points.
Would it be a good decision to buy a flail which steals life?
I wear the ring cause it gives MAX resistance. I'm at Griswold now - answer quickly!!!

The ring you had is the Constricting Ring which give 75% to all resistances but makes you constantly lose your life. I never used it whenever I found it as there're other, better means to have max resistance. And no losing of life.

My char is legit and stuff like that there. I have an original Diablo1 for F's sake.
Sure we can play, it "sounds" great. I had some awesome unique items and sh--, but you guys woke up a week later. Why? :huh:

I knew what it is, but thought about "other means" as you call it to get better resisstance. I still have it - it's still a classy + expensive + unique item.

EDIT: I'm level 19 now (soon to be 20) and have a nice character with powerfull stuff. I go with the "Stars" set, cause it's the most powerful. My char had 58606 gold spent on "Mail of the Stars" which has +9 to all stats. Kinda cool, huh? My chars equipped with:

Crown of the Stars, +11 to all atributes
Sword of the Stars, +10 to all atributes
Mail of the Stars, +9 to all atributes
Shield of the Moon, +7 to all atributes
Gold amulet of the Moon, +5 to all atributes AND +27% chance to hit
Ring of Vim, +15 to Vitality
Ivory ring. +32% against Magic

Thats only equiped, I have also the Constricting Ring, a Flaming Sword of Vim, an Amber Plate, a Brutal Sword and Baranar's Star (a unique item which I want to sell first for a bit cash).

So... Who's willing to help me kill Diablo on this one? :titan:

The original Diablo had some of the most horrible hacking, hacked items, and duping. Duping is when you trick the game and turn a potion into a copy of an incredibly powerful item you have. It's very easy to do, and it's a wonder how Blizzard didn't fix it all those years back.
Your character can be using hacked items and you couldn't even know it, you'll have to let me check him out, since I played the game for years before I got tired.
But looking at your equipment, probably not :P

I can come join you, just PM me with a time (I'm US Eastern, go find a international clock and put your time in there) then tell me the name of the game, and I can come help kill Diablo. (I might have to make a new character, dunno if my account was deleted :D)

I got my character all this "powerfull" while playing multiplayer via Direct Cable Connection mode. That's not cheating, is it? No one can dupe me or hack me that way, huh?

I still have it on 3 saves, but I'm gonna get it sooner or later. I just left it in a dungeon and forgot to take it back before endig my game. I got the "Executioner's Blade" however, so my grief is almost over. I am trying to get as many spells as I can.

I played for a few hours on battle net the other day and I saw two people. TWO. One Canadian guy who said that mine was the only public game he could find on any gateway. That is to say, he checked ALL the gateways and found one game. Then there was some other dude who turned out to be a hacker/duper so I killed him and took his ear.

The battle.net stats at the top of the chat window when I logged in said there were just over 100 games of Diablo worldwide at that time. This is opposed to Diablo 2, where whenever I log in there's always like 80,000 games or something insane like that.

Hellfire does not have Multiplayer option (officially). You can do some tricks (create a special file), but it works only for LAN - no battle.net ever.

It's a program that emulates LAN. Very simple to use. And mod is simply a 2 file download which you copy in the game folder, and start it's .exe, so IQ lvl 10+ is enough :D

hehe, i'd love to play some d1 w/ you guys - i haven't played that one in forever. (i have it installed, but never got around to playing it again) It'd be great to play hellfire multiplayer as well - if you guys know how to get it to work, and fill me in, i'll install it as well. (it's been so long since i played hellfire, i can barely remember all the stuff it includes!)

and yeah, since d2 is simply a re-hashed version of d1 (only differences are higher resolution and more items / characters) the system reqs for d2 are so similar to d1 that almost no one plays it. that was always one of my biggest complaints about d2 - i really wish bliz had taken the time to update the engine a bit more - the graphics and interface were dated when it was released. Not to mention that d1 was the first battle.net game released by bliz, so it's about as basic as you can get. although you gotta love the "spawn" install option - how cool was that? too bad companies don't offer things like that anymore! (only game i can think of that does that still is sins of a solar empire - and that's not a spawn install, it just doesn't require the cd to play - no copy protection = easy to share w/ friends and get them to buy!)

Hey Ultima, there's a mod for Hellfire called The Hell(www.thehell.narod.ru) that aloows multiplayer with the use of Hamachi.
And they also translated it too my language ^^

I unearthed Diablo 1 from my cellar to give it another go, but unfortunately the team-damage in multiplayer sucks. Even with playerkilling turned off, you still can damage your mates when they accidentally stand between you and the enemy. That's really dumb because this game screams to play it again.
