Just one little comment. Al Love didn't get the idea for Larry while playing this game, HE made SOFTPORN! At least that's what it says in my booklet that came with the Larry collection (Larry's 1 - 6 + Softporn + jokes). It even said it includes Larry 4: The case of the missing file (but as the title says, the file was missing). :bleh:

Yes it's a very detailed game, it's a text-game for crying out loud.
Everything you see is described to you verbally (note that I did not use the word Oral for obvious reasons... :bleh: )

Anyways, I played LSL 1 to the end, so it doesn't look so original to me. Nothing bad about the game in itself, I guess...

One day, I went to my local computer store and bought a copy of
Leisure Suit Larry 1. When I played it, I was amazed to see that Larry 1
was the same game as my Softporn! So I contacted Ken Williams, President
of Sierra On-Line, and Al Lowe, creator of the Leisure Suit Larry Series.
They informed me they bought the rights to Softporn Adventure and re-released
it. It won several awards. They then game the contract to Al Lowe and

Oh well - I can just tell you what I read in the booklet that came with the collection pack I bought. BTW - whoever made this review (Red and EgAt) probably wanted to show a sence of humor, but I doubt very much, that a visitor (who's not a regular forum member) would have no idea what you're all talking about ( :bye: Unknown Hero, sorry Kosta, It's not theVoid's diary, yes you Aagber,...). Is tat really something that should go into a review.

I din't find it funny, but that's just a matter of taste - I know what you're saying. But it was a %$#BT I%HGOBPJR to translate, because there are only 5 slovene forum visitors I know of so far, so I was typing - a from member, yet another forum member, this one is also a member of the forum,... so much I thought I was fighting off gophers in the Monkey Islany 1 - the cut scene at governor Marley's mansion. :D

Damn, I found it somewhere. 'TV ON', that's it. Now that's stupid, the game expected me the whole time to start comands with verbs, and now this muck. 'TV on' means nothing, without a predicate it isn't even in the remotest sense a sentence. I hated it.

Tried playing this but it just seems so primitive by the standards of modern IF (or even AIF, which is generally sneered at) that I couldn't really stay interested. Minimal descriptions, objects that can't be examined, the need to type out 'examine' over and over again, etc.

Funny that I can play an older game with awful graphics and still love every minute of it, but the same can't be said for an older IF game. I guess it's because text is the same today as it was back then, and you can't really excuse poor writing on the grounds of technology.

I always thougt this was the father of LSL1, nice to have it verified. In answer to complaints, it's a very OLD pre-PC game, also a TEXT ONLY game. Good mostly for it's nostalgia value. The year given for the PC version is 1991. The game is much older than that. I had a copy (don't know where I got it, certainly didn't buy it) for my Atari 800 which I quit using in 1989. I would guess 1987 for the Atari version. I found it amusing at the time but then as now I didn't have enough time to play every game. And by the way, I wonder if there is a connection here. The game was published by On Line Systems and Sierra became Sierra On-Line.
