Hey,
Does anybody know if this game is abandonware yet?
It was still being sold around october last year (possibly earlier)

Have recently played theif 3 i want to play the 1/2 in the series...

Well, I bought some time ago Thief 1 or Dark Project in a compilation pack in a shop here in Germany. It's around 7-6 Months ago, so I guess it's not abandoned yet. But who knows...

Thief 1 and 2 are both easily found here in the UK, for about two pounds each preowned, or usually in a "3-for?10" deal new.

They're on the Sold Out budget label.

I got Thief 2 for Xmas. Sold Out Software (fine dealers in many games!) sells it. They also sell Shogun Total war... :P:P:P

You can freely buy Thief I and Thief I+II (doublepack) in stores here in Belgium.
Its Thief II alone (not bundled with thief I) thats difficult to find.

Thief II is probably the best, Thief I had silly little zombies you had to kill along the way which isn't a very thiefy thing to do but Theif II was all about the breaking in and stealing B)

From what I understand Thief I pitted you against the Pagans (the weird plant-growing freaks)
while Thief II pitted you against The Mechanists (the industrial religion, sworn enemies of the pagans)
I wanted to play Thief II (I really likes the strange mechanical/medieval world of the original game) but never found it being sold single.
And since I already have Thief I I don't don't to buy the double pack.
A lot of fans think Thief I is the best one mostly due to the creepy zombie missions.

Thief, besides it concept, also aims at creating a creepy/strange atmosphere.
In this aspect I think Thief III did great ('The Cradle' level was 5 times creepier than any Doom 3 mission... and half of that level didn't even have a single enemy)

Thief II is awesome, the first thing i'm doing with highspeed internet is downloading the fan missions, there's an endless supply and they mainly focus on breaking in and stuff sometimes.

It's very cool to read books an immerse yourself in the game world.

Yeah the fanmade maps are awesome... there was this one modification.
Just to play it I would have bought the game.

It used the same graphics, but they had added so many wonderfull textures it was amazing to behold.

It's not a matter of how long the game is on the market that determines whether it's abandonware. It's a matter of whether anybody still holds the rights, or whether those that do hold the rights still care about pursuing these. Same as in other, non-gaming genres.

:w00t: I live in Holland, and I bought thief 1 for E 4,95!!! I think I'm going to complain and go to Belgium (not so far away :) ) for thief 1 + 2... :D

This game is a epic Ego-Shooter game of Eidos. Released in 1998. It´s the best game of this year.

In the Game you play Garrett the Thief. His Mission: Steal mystic Objects!
For your Mission, you have Arrows, A Sword and more.
