Since I've read some coverage about the newest ''The Elder scroll'' game called Oblivion I can't wait to see it hit the shelves! , though it will take a minimum of 2 years till it comes :(
Screenies (http://www.elderscrolls.com/art/obliv_screenshots_01.htm)
Further I'm dying to see Stalker: Oblivion lost (what's with oblivion lately), Running in a 5 mile square recreated chernobyl area seems like a great experience.

I haven't really been keeping up with the gaming world lately. Only games I play now are old dos games. :D
But I am still dying to get UT 2004. I know its ben out for nearly a whole year now, but I'm lazy.
Although I hear there is a new GTA coming out, where you can go to three different countries. Should be good.

I'm also looking forward to the new GTA game (coming out on PC next year) and the new Pirates! coming out in the next couple of weeks. Apart from Half-life 2 and TES: Oblivian I can't think of anything else I'm really looking forward to apart from Black and White 2.

Why would I be looking into a new game knowing very well that it has about 15% of chance only to be as good as the games we have already on the site but with "beautiful" graphics added in for the kick..? :not_ok:

Maybe because the new graphic renderings also can add several new gameplay values not possible with older games? Just a thought ;)

I completely disagree. There is not even a point in arguing over that, it doesn't make sense.

Was Black and White where you were a God and you had a little pet that you could slap and you had a civilisation of people who worshipped you and prayed for you and there was an evil god and you could fight its pet with your pet and take their civilisation?
If it was I loved that game.
And if there is a second I can't wait.

Yes it was, only you'll be able to do even more.

While I loved Black and White and tought about it as a true gem, extensive play leaded me to think it was an under average game.
The problem did not lay in the graphic, but in the lack of depth of the game. It was sure interesting at first, completing quests and the like... Then you get to fight the evil God, and it gets extremely tedious from that point.
The AI is laking in several ways, and there is numerous annoying bugs in the game even with the patched version.
If B&W2 can fix only the above problems, it should be a good game to play.

Baldur's Gate 3. Nothing is known about it except that it is being done by another developer then the last two games and it will be a different story. Hope it turns out okay.
Civilization 4. In development for under a year now, we know as much about it as we do about BG3. The combat system needs an overhaul at the very least but mayor changes would not hyrt as well to every part of this game series.
My new computer. No it's not a game but I need a new computer to run either of these so send me money people. I need it :tnx: LOL

This is something I think need a discussion started for. Why would you need to change the heart of old game series only for the sake of change?
When I am to buy a Civilization game, I would expect it to be pretty much similar to it's predecessor. Afterall, it's the same name with a new number, which basically mean it's only the next part of the same game. Changing it so much that you can't recognize it (like I recently experimented with Heroes of Might and Magic IV) is completely stupid and shows that the developpers wished to create a completely new game but kept the name only because of it's popularity, thinking it would sell well...
I could name a lot of games which took that way too.

make a new thread for that if you will. I just want to know what games people want to play ;)

I'm looking forward to Gothic 3. If anyone of you played the first parts, you know that the third game will be that RPG hit when it comes out. :max:

Counter Strike 2, or Counter Strike: Source, is allready out, all you need is steam and a credit card. As for HL2 the release is set for Novemeber 16:th.

Becouse otherwise it'll just be a lame graphical update.

HoMM IV was not so different from it predicessors that it was a completely different game. I am not saying they should turn Civ into a platform shooter. I am meerly saying that with todays computing power there is no need to have the same combat system as civ1 had. Indeed because of the way the world in civ has grown it makes sence to reinvent the combat system because moving your 100+ units around is a pain even with the group move orders introduced in the expansions. The way civ handles cities is also no longer fun or neccessary. I would much rather see a way in which I am leader of a country then leader of several cities. Why still have a game world that is build up out of squares? It is not neccessary to do so and limits the reality I feel while playing the game. In general I would prefer to have a game that tries to have a feel of reality to it rather then the "camp" feel of civilization. Why have only 24 civs in the world instead of the 100-200 that are actually in there. Why do we need "unique" units that are somehow connected to certain civs? Why not have you be able to develop your own style of combat that is unique to you because your civilization developed in that direction because of choices you made while playing the game? I could go on but I think you get where I am going with this.
Of course a game that hold a series name should have a connection to the games that went before it. Half Life 2 not only has a leading character that is the same it is also a strongly story driven FPS just as its predesessor but, for me to buy the sequal to a game I liked that game should give me a good reason to buy it. Just making some new levels or fixing some issues from the last game is not going to cut it. Technology moves on and gives gamesmakers new possibilities to exploit. With civ especially (buying as old as it was) I had the feeling that part three was essentially the same game as was released in 1991 with some new features and an arguably vastly improved graphics system (and better AI I will admit). The core of the game however remains unchanged and no longer is at the forefront of what computers can do. It is no wonder that Civ3 was granted only an 83% score by my favorite games magazine. I have played civ3 and enjoyed that time but got boored with its shortcommings long before the same happend to me with Civ2. Right now I am playing Rome: Total War as my main new game and am enjoying it far more then I did civ3 (although it too has major shortcommings).
What I am hoping will come out of civ4 development is a brand new way in which the game works, one that will once again make me believe I am running an empire and not like I am playing a game of civilization.
I have played both Call to Power and Call to power 2. I liked the former but disliked the latter. I love the fact that i can walk through history to the present with civ style games, I do not like playing in some phantasy future with it. This is what I hated about part 2. the CtP series is by far the best civ clone out there but it is not nearly as good as civ on my account (although CtP was better then Civ2).

Well, the new Grand Theft Auto comes out tomorrow for the Playstation 2 so i'll hopefully be getting it for my birthday.
All the games I want now will be on the PS2, including the new Smackdown! wrestling and perhaps Bard's Tale.

The next Legend of Zelda for my gamecube.
I somehow lost track about PC games, because my PC is getting to slow for all those new games :(.
But I think the new Settlers will rock, and Stronghold 2 of course.

And Gothic 3. Don't forget Gothic 3. It will be THE RPG hit when it's out (hopefully earlier than later). :ok:

I loved the original Gothic, but when I tried G2, my PC was still too slow for it. Maybe I should give it a try now.

You won't regret it. And don't forget to install the addon, The Night of the Raven, when you're through with the main game. :ok:
It makes the game more difficult, but it adds very cool looking new world and nice music. And also some new armors and weapons.

I heard of such problems before. You need to change the sound settings from DirectX sound to Miles Fast or inversed. In any case, that should be the problem.
