Oddly enough, both Microsoft and Sony are currently trying to chum up with Nintendo, sporting their products as "the other purchase gamers should make". Interesting.

oh the drama. Honestly, this was a pretty obvious turn of events. Nintendo has taken the reigns of the console world by storm once again, and both other contendors are claiming to have supported them one hundred percent (oh, and buy ours too).

I don't get it.
what's not to get? Sony and M$ don't like ach other. and considering nintendo has over 50% of market share (at least according to the article provided), there is harly any point dnying they are the best.
no conspiracy here.
P.S. P.C. rulez.

What's funny is that Nintendo is sort of ignoring them both, sort of remaining apathetic towards both.

Funny thing is that the main reason for not owning (apart from DS in the past and PSP now) consoles, is not the cost of the console but the much higher cost of games than pc games, and since it is all about the games for me (I couldnt care less for supporting Sony, MS or Nintendo), I can get more, cheaper games for PC than console games.
If they manage to reduce the price of games to that of PC games, then sure, not one, but all three consoles.

Each console holds a different perspective in my eyes, in that the nintendo has definately the most inovative comsole there, my psx, ps2 and psp have kept me relatively happy with their performance in the past 5 or 6 years, and the xbox is the most powerful, and has that funky online arcade place thingy that looks pretty cool, although my past experiences with both xboxs have kinda put me off them. I reckon if anything i would get the nintendo, because a change from the playstation is pretty welcome, i would like to try out its controller and see if its all its cracked up to be, and it is by far cheaper.

My guess is that Microsoft and Sony overshot their mark with powerful but too expensive systems.
Nintendo on the other hand settled for making a cheaper one that will have good enough capabilities for enjoyable gaming... the ideal balance, IMO.

Has Nintendo even released a price yet for the Wii?
These companies might look stupid if the Wii cost say $300. That would make it a direct competitor to the 360 core system price wise.
Theres also alot of gamers that cant afford a second console

If I buy a console, it's going to be Wii. Reason? Two words: Metroid. Prime.
well, I agree, that metroid rulez, but wtf is "prime"?

Metroid Prime is a series of the Metroid games that are played in first person, as you go through classic metroid style puzzles and mazes, using different visors to explore around and find the games incredibly numerous and intricate secrets.

You should also take your own advice, efthimios, since people have already played the game that aren't from Nintendo themselves and already said that it's incredibly easy to use.
So it's not baseless. Read some articles before you pick on someone else.
EDIT: That screen shot looks exactly like the iceworld from the first Metroid Prime, but with fancier graphicnessness.
