Well, guys, this game brings us back to the very beginning of the manager games genre. For most gamers, 1-0 Soccer Manager is quite unknown: very few people have actually heard about it, including the fans of the genre.
Don’t expect much from the graphics, because the game doesn’t have any. But for fans of the management genre, it has plenty of statistics to enjoy.
A nice feature of the game is that the names and teams from 1992 are all accurate. In the beginning, you can choose the one-player option or invite a friend to play with you. After that, you can pick a team from the Super League (the best league in Europe) or a normal team from the first, second or third English leagues. There are some very good points; for example, you will need to pay close attention to the skills of your players. When you want to buy a player for a particular position, try to find one with the best combination of skills for that position on the field.
The game gives you the option to watch the matches, or, as in most good management games, you can choose to only see the sequences with major events. One bad point is that when watching a match, you only see letters, each letter representing a player.
1-0 Soccer Manager was made by an unknown producer called Wizard Games of Scotland, Ltd. Like the game, they are rather unknown, but this game, if it had better graphics, could be one of the best soccer manager games ever made. I give it 3 stars.
