Just like Chupa Chups tried to make their products more popular by creating Zool, 7-Up created Cool Spot to promote their soda. Even though the game won’t make me go out and buy insane amounts of 7-Up, I still enjoy it for what it is: a simple and fun jump-'n-run game.
Most of the game code has been used in creating the different animations for Cool Spot. Watching him go is enough for me, but the game itself is also great. Just be sure to let him get bored, so that you can watch the animations really go wild. The rest of the graphics are also pretty, and some of the backgrounds are simply awesome. The monsters are fun, and even though they look slow, this game is not an easy walk in the park. Each monster has its unique attack pattern, and some of them require several shots before they die.
The object of the game is to complete each level with the highest possible coolness factor, and to free your friends at the end of each mission. Contrary to other platform games out there, this one is not as straightforward as it might seem. You will have to look everywhere to progress through the game.
All in all, this game is definitely something worth trying out.
