In the 80’s Epyx was a famous sports games company. They made most of the classic C64 sport games and many of them also came out for the PC. This is one of such classics. There are 6 fun disciplines in which you can compete to get the best score, or to defeat your friends (this is defiantly more fun). The events are:
Halfpipe: You need to skate on a ramp performing various tricks to get as much points as possible.
Footbag: You need to bounce the ball and try to do some tricks while doping it.
Flying Disk: You need to throw the disk to your partner, who needs to catch it. Once the disk is in the air you can start moving the partner around (you’ll see the red marks at the top of the screen).
Surfing: There’s a killer wave after you and you need to surf it and prove that you’re the real thing.
Skating: There’s a lot of trash on the pavement right next to the beach. You need to skate along it avoiding this trash.
BMX: You’re on a track filled with hills and obstacles. You need to ride the course and every time you can jump you can also do something really radical (if you got what it takes).
Technical Note: When I tried to run this game in DOSBox it said that I don’t have enough memory, so I had to download D-Fend. It’s a great tool to use if you have the DOSBox installed.
There is also another (easier) way to run the game in DOSBox (thank you Data for sharing the info). Before running the game simply type loadfix in DOSBox and press enter (duh).
