Dear Abandonia visitors: We are a small team that runs one of the largest DOS Games websites in the world. We have only 3 members of staff, but serve 450,000 users and have outgoing costs like any other top site for example: our servers, power, rent, programs, and staff. Abandonia is something special. It is a library of old games for you to download. It is like an old gaming arcade with all the old games in their original format. Abandonia is a place where you can find great old games and have fun four hours and years. To protect our independence, we are dependent of our friends using the site. We run on donations averaging around 6 USD (5 Euro). If everyone reading this gave the price of a cup of coffee, our fundraiser would be made easier. If Abandonia is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online for another year. Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.
That is the question on the mind of every agent at the ACME Detective Agency. You have been granted the use of ACME's Portable Chronoskimmer, a device that enables you to travel through time. Various items have been stolen from around the globe and through time, and your job is to get them back.
The premise of this game, like the others in the Carmen Sandiego series by Broderbund, is simple. Apprehend the thief by following him or her to the different locations. In order to do this, you will need to question witnesses and informants, and scan for objects. These clues will point you in the correct direction to pursue. However, there is a catch: You only have a certain amount of time to apprehend the thief, and everything you do costs valuable time! However, if you succeed in arresting all of Carmen's henchmen (and henchwomen), you will be finally able to track down Carmen Isabella Sandiego herself.
This game has good graphics for its time, and the sound is of fairly good quality for PC-Speaker sound. I would give this game a 5, because it has everything that a good game should have. Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? is fun, challenging, and at times humorous. This is a terrific game for anyone who wants to learn about history while capturing dangerous criminals at the same time.
